A manger, My provision

anschegrob

What is the first image that comes to your mind when I say the word "Savior"?

Did you see a soldier, a well-built warrior, or a Marvel character...

What do you think My people thought when I promised them that I was going to send them a savior? Someone leading an army, riding on chariots of fire and ready to bring justice. And with a war cry bring an end to all the suffering and pain?

There was a cry...

But it wasn't one of war and vengeance. It was the fragile cry of a newborn baby. Wrapped with cloths, placed in a manger. Although the rest of the world didn't experience that moment as quite unique, the stars pointed to their creator. Nature knew the Savior was born.

While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.

Luke 2:6-7 (NIV)

A manger is usually a long trough from which horses or cattle feed. I placed Myself, My son in a manger, as a symbol of My provision. For every need that you might face, I will provide.

I didn't come as the world expected. It was never about fame or popularity. I could've changed hearts in an instant, but I'm a God of process and relationship.

Growing up in the house that I was raised in, I valued the time spent with My family. My heart is always filled with joy when families come together, have fellowship with a home-cooked meal and enjoy My blessings.

The time is here. The world is celebrating a festive holiday. To most, it is just a time to catch their breath before the new year begins. During this time I want you to remember the reason for this festive season, where it all started. Invite Me to sit at the family table. Laugh, reminisce about the good old days, and value family time.

I'm coming again kid, soon. I can't wait to spend eternity with my children, face to face. Oh, how we will dance, sing and celebrate forever. This time, I'm coming as King of kings and Lord of lords. For those who have accepted Me as their Savior and Lord, it is definitely a time to look forward to. Until then, I want you to be My hands and feet. Share My present of salvation with others and do not keep it all to yourself. Serve others with humility, look at them through My eyes, no condemnation - just love.

But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander. For it is better, if it is God’s will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil. For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit.

1 Peter 3:15 (NIV)

One day, we will all celebrate together.

Until then, I love you, always and forever.

Dad
