Do you know what a firebreak is? Farmers working in the fields know its importance. It acts as a barrier to slow or stop the progress of a wildfire. One of the many ways to prepare a firebreak is to strategically use fire to burn a specific area so that it can act as a barrier if a wildfire is on the move.
Let Me be your firebreak. Put your trust in Me.
Bring all your worries, shame, fear, and regret. I want to be the barrier around you. When You allow Me to burn in your heart, I will take away all the lies and the bad habits that are not in line with My Word. This is where I want you to trust Me, it might not be comfortable, but neither is wearing a safety belt, yet you know that it is good for you. I will destroy all that was meant to harm you. And when I burn, no greater fire can overtake it. You cannot burn something that has already been burned through My fire.
I know, you've been longing for this protection all along, My Holy fire. You've been looking for it in people and places, just to find out that the burning of firebreaks can itself be the cause of fires. If it is used in the wrong conditions or in the hands of someone who can only play with fire, but isn't consumed with it, it will only lead to pain and devastation.
I am a consuming fire (Hebrews 12:29), My Spirit controls the winds. I want to be the pillar of fire around you, not just to guide you (Exodus 13:21), but also to protect you.
Be desperate for Me so that I can open your eyes to see that you cannot go through this life without My Spirit. My fire is a holy aroma, it draws you near, it's fierce and yet safe. The choice is always yours My child, be burned by this world without mercy, grace, and love, or be protected with My fire, ignited to spread out to others like a wildfire for My Name's sake. Don't get Me wrong, I don't want you to choose My fire out of fear, rather out of a place where you know that apart from it there is no meaning to life. It's not only protection that we're talking about here, it's love, acceptance, purpose, hope, and freedom just to name a few. I have so much more in store for you than you can ever imagine.
And I myself will be a wall of fire around it,’ declares the Lord, ‘and I will be its glory within.
